27 Club: Musisi2 Dunia Yang Meninggal Pada Usia 27

Entah memang suatu kebetulan atau memang ada sesuatu dibalik fenomena tersebut, dimana banyak musisi2 populer dunia yang meninggal pada usia 27 tahun, sering sebagai akibat dari penyalahgunaan alkohol dan narkoba, atau cara2 lainnya seperti pembunuhan atau bunuh diri dan kecelakaan.

Sebut saja Brian Jones, Alan Wilson, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, dan Jim Morrison yang meninggal antara tahun 1969 dan 1971, juga kematian Kurt Cobain pada tahun 1994, hingga yang terakhir Monkey Black seorang rapper dan penyanyi asal Dominika yang tewas terbunuh pada April 2014. Hal2 inilah yang menyebabkan opini2 yang tersebar di persepsi publik dan juga para pengamat musik dunia mengenai mitos "27 Club" ini.

Club ini telah berulang kali dikutip dalam majalah2 musik, jurnal dan pers harian. Beberapa pameran telah digelar, novel, film dan drama panggung. Ada banyak sekali teori yang berbeda dan berbagai macam spekulasi tentang penyebab kematian dini tersebut. Seperti penulis 'Cobain dan Hendrix biografi' Charles R. Cross yang menulis "Jumlah musisi yang meninggal pada usia 27 benar2 luar biasa menurut standar apapun, [meskipun] manusia mati secara teratur di segala usia, ada lonjakan statistik untuk musisi yang meninggal pada usia 27".., Namun menurut sebuah penelitian yang diterbitkan dalam British Medical Journal pada desember 2011 menyimpulkan bahwa tidak ada peningkatan risiko kematian bagi para musisi pada usia 27.
Bahkan ada juga sebagian orang2 yang menghubung-hubungkan mitos ini dengan kelompok iluminati dan beberapa teori konspirasi lainnya, so bagaimana menurut anda ?.

Ada juga beberapa musisi yang mengangkat dan menuangkan fenomena ini kedalam sebuah lagu, diantaranya adalah lagu "28" dari John Craige di albumnya 'Montana Tale', dan juga lagu "27 Forever" dari eric Burdon di album 'Til Your River Runs Dry'.
